Follow Alexa app set up steps

Step 1. Open the App store or play store that is available in your device and search for Alexa app. once it is shown,tap and download alexa app. make sure, that you are connected to Wi-Fi before proceeding towards setup.

Step 2: Plug in power adapter directly into your Alexa device and connect other end of power cable to power outlet. once it is connected, the device's light ring would turn blue, you need to wait till the light turns Orange during initializing process. once it is done,you would hear Alexa's female voice informing you that the device is up for setup.

Step 3: Link your Alexa device to home Wi-Fi network through Alexa app. in case, you are stuck in the process, open the alexa app on your device and search for available networks. once you find your home Wi-Fi network. once you are connected, save your Wi-Fi password through option for Amazon. saving password on Amazon makes it easy to connect or set up more devices on the same network.

Step 4: Once you are done with above shared steps, say default wake word "Alexa" and it would respond you. Amazon Alexa devices comes with the option to change "Wake word" from "Aexa" to "Echo", "Computer", or "Amazon". Just ask Alexa, change the wake word. it can also be done manually through Alexa app on your device. 

Step 5: Now your Alexa is all set to be used whenever you want. you can ceck whether your device is working properly or not by calling the "Wake word" and Hi, it would respond you with the answer "Hi"...moving further, under Alexa app menu there are two different sections known as "Things to try" and "Skils & games". make yourself familiar with these two sections under Alexa app and you would be astonished to find, how capable your device is.
